The NRI's research facility in Iqaluit, which opened to the public in 2011, is a 5000 square foot building located at 959A Nunavut Drive in the downtown core of Iqaluit. The building provides office and meeting space for the NRI's administrative staff and research associates while also supporting a range of scientific research, training and outreach activities led by NRI staff, NAC faculty, students, and research collaborators. The research conference room is widely utilized by diverse groups to support research training, outreach, and planning activities; while the multipurpose wet laboratory supports Nunavut's Trichinella diagnostic program and other hands-on applied research projects.

Some of the research logistics support services and resources available at the NRI facilities in Iqaluit include:
- Shared accommodation at Nunavut Arctic College's Iqaluit research townhouse (limited availability)
- Telephone, fax, printing, copying
- Wireless internet access
- Research work stations
- Whisper interpretation kit (microphone and receivers)
- Research library
- Meeting room with presentation screens and projectors
- Shower and laundry facilities
- Wet laboratory with chemical fume hoods
NRI staff may also be able provide valuable advice and referrals to help plan scientific research, training, and knowledge mobilization efforts in Nunavut. Some of the ways we can help include:
- identifying and clarifying the licensing and permit requirements for research field activities;
- advice on procuring research support services from Nunavut communities (interpreter/translators, field assistants, guides/outfitters, accommodation, etc.);
- providing access to space for research outreach and training activities;
- advice and assistance in engaging Nunavut Arctic College in collaborative research and training;
- information and advice to assist research project development, including identifying potential research partners and sources for project funding.
